The most recent addition to the complete review is my review of Nobel laureate Kawabata Yasunari's Thousand Cranes.
I was surprised to learn that this was one of only two of Kawabata's works to be published in the US before he won the Nobel Prize in 1968 (the other was Snow Country). (A collection of stories in translation, The Izu Dancer, was also published before then, but only in Japan.)
