I Was Jack Mortimer review

The most recent addition to the complete review is my review of Alexander Lernet-Holenia's I Was Jack Mortimer, coming out from Pushkin Press.
It's nice to see Pushkin Press offer this; various Lernet-Holenia works have been published in English over the years, but volumes from the likes of Ariadne and the classic Eridanos Library only managed to reach so many readers; this repeatedly filmed (and also made into a German TV movie in 1961, directed by Daniel Kehlmann's dad, Michael; see the IMDb page ...) might help get him more attention. Still, with such a variety of work he's a hard-to-pin-down author, and that makes him a difficult sell in (English) translation, so I don't know that he'll ever really catch on.
