As Hurley notes: "The books' distinctive, restrained design is part of their enduring appeal". Indeed ! Would that more publishers emulated both the simple, uniform cover design -- and, more importantly, the pocket-sized format. (Admirably, Harvard University Press has brought out some contemporary titles -- such as Ronald Dworkin's new book (see their publicity page) -- in the same pocket-size.)
