The most recent addition to the complete review is my review of Basque author Bernardo Atxaga's Belgian Congo-novel, Seven Houses in France.
Disappointingly, the novel is translated not directly from the Basque it was written in, but rather the Spanish translation of the novel. I suppose one might argue that this is almost excusable, since Atxaga himself was responsible for the translation from the Basque into the Spanish (along with Asun Garikano); nevertheless, given the great differences in the two languages (it's not like Basque is a Romance language) I don't think that's quite good enough.
