The most recent addition to the complete review is my review of Carlos Fuentes' Aura.
This has some great cinematic potential: narrated in the second person, I could see it filmed entirely from the main character's point of view (i.e. through his eyes -- i.e. not like this version). The 1966 Damiano Damiani-adaptation, La strega in amore, obviously didn't stick too closely to the original, but I do like the IMDb description:

A historian goes to a castle library to translate some ancient erotic literature. While there he discovers what he believes to be supernatural forces at work.Which, come to think of it, might have made for a more entertaining book, too.
