       At PEN Atlas Tasja Dorkofikis has a Q & A with Joël Dicker, whose internationally bestselling The Truth about the Harry Quebert Affair just came out in the US.
       Among the interesting claims Dicker makes:

I did not have a plan before I started writing the book. The pleasure for me was simply to invent the story as I went along, and to see how the events unfolded.

       (This is surely somewhat of an exaggeration -- the book feels far too intricately plotted to have been written on the fly. On the other hand, it would explain a lot ....)
