The Erika-Fuchs-Haus, a 'Museum für Comic und Sprachkunst' (museum for comics and language-arts), opened in Germany at the beginning of the month.
Erika Fuchs (1906-2005) is the rare translator to have achieved great acclaim and recognition for translations of ... comic books -- the Disney ones (Donald Duck, etc.), specifically. Susan Bernofsky has a good explanation of her success and art in her 2009 Wall Street Journal piece, Why Donald Duck Is the Jerry Lewis of Germany, noting that:

Her interpretations of the comic books often quote (and misquote) from the great classics of German literature, sometimes even inserting political subtexts into the duck tales.
